Accessibility Statement
Last updated: May 25, 2026
Poker Republic is committed to making the app usable by people with the widest possible range of abilities. This page describes the accessibility features we currently support, the standards we target, and how to report a barrier you've encountered.
What we support today
- Screen readers — every interactive element (buttons, icon controls, rows on the leaderboard, RSVP toggles, etc.) carries a descriptive label so VoiceOver (iOS, macOS), TalkBack (Android), and NVDA / JAWS (Windows) announce its purpose. Profit / loss values are spoken as "up $X" / "down $X" instead of relying on color alone.
- Keyboard navigation — the web app is fully navigable with the Tab key. Buttons, form fields, and links are reachable in a logical order.
- Tap target sizes — interactive controls are sized to the WCAG 2.5.5 minimum of 44×44 logical pixels so they're easy to hit on touch screens.
- Reduced motion — we honor the system "reduce motion" setting (iOS Settings → Accessibility → Motion, Android Accessibility → Remove animations, browser
prefers-reduced-motion). Long-running decorative animations are suppressed for users who opt out.
- Color is never the only signal — RSVP status, money values, and event-mode pills all carry a text label or icon in addition to color. Color-blind users get the same information.
- Resizable text — the app scales correctly when the OS or browser font size is increased.
- Multiple languages — the UI and legal documents are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, German, Chinese (Simplified), and Hebrew. The active language follows your system locale or your manual selection from Settings.
- Right-to-left text rendering — Hebrew users see fully mirrored layouts; legal docs in Hebrew render with the correct text direction.
Standards we target
We aim for conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We are not formally certified — accessibility is an ongoing effort and individual screens may still fall short. We treat AA conformance as the baseline rather than a finish line and continue to improve as we ship updates.
Known limitations
We're being honest: the following are areas where we may not yet meet WCAG 2.1 AA in every screen. We're working on them.
- Some smaller text on dark backgrounds may fall below the 4.5:1 contrast ratio. We're auditing the palette.
- Focus indicators on web are the browser default; we plan to add a higher-contrast focus ring.
- The web app does not yet provide a "skip to main content" link before the navigation bar.
- The app does not provide a built-in option to read content aloud — we rely on the user's screen reader instead.
What we don't support yet
- Custom voice-command workflows beyond what the OS provides.
Report a barrier
If you encounter an accessibility issue — a button you can't reach, a label that doesn't read correctly, contrast that's too low to use — please email support@poker-republic.com with the subject line "Accessibility report" and a short description of what happened. We aim to respond within 7 days.
Assistive-technology compatibility
We test against the following combinations. If you use a different setup and have trouble, please let us know.
- VoiceOver on iOS Safari and macOS Safari
- TalkBack on Android Chrome
- NVDA on Windows Firefox / Chrome (web)
