Welcome to Poker Republic. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

What Poker Republic is

Poker Republic is a private app for organizing home poker games among invited friends. It is a tool for managing group memberships, events, RSVPs, results, and leaderboards. Poker Republic is not a gambling service. The app does not handle money, does not facilitate betting, and does not take a cut of any wager. Any cash exchange between players happens entirely outside the app and is between those players.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the app.
You are responsible for ensuring that any private poker games you organize using the app comply with the laws of your jurisdiction.

Your account

You sign in with Google or Apple. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.
You are responsible for the content you post — group names, event titles, notes, and your display name.
You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account. If you are the sole admin of a group with other members, the app will ask you to transfer admin to another member or delete the group first; this prevents accidentally orphaning other people's game data.

Subscriptions & payments

Poker Republic is free to use for organizing games. An optional Pro subscription unlocks additional features, and every new account includes a free trial (currently 90 days).
Auto-renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. A free trial converts to a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel before then.
Billing. On iOS and Android, purchases are billed by Apple or Google through your store account; on the web, by Stripe. We never receive or store your card details.
Cancellation. You can cancel anytime — on mobile through your Apple or Google account subscription settings, on the web through the billing portal. Cancelling stops future renewals; your access continues until the end of the period you already paid for.
Refunds. Refunds for mobile purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. For web purchases, contact us. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK you have a statutory right to withdraw from a digital purchase within 14 days; however, by starting a subscription or trial that gives you immediate access you ask us to begin performance during that period and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once access has been provided, to the extent permitted by law.
Price changes. We will give you advance notice of any price change; the new price applies to the next renewal after that notice.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Post content that is harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable.
Impersonate someone else.
Use the app to organize illegal gambling or any other illegal activity.
Attempt to access groups, events, or accounts that you have not been invited to.
Reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the service.

We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts that violate these rules. Group admins may also remove members from their groups.

User-generated content

You retain ownership of the content you create. By posting content, you grant Poker Republic a worldwide, non-exclusive license to store and display it within the app for the purpose of running the service.

To report objectionable content or abusive users, email support@poker-republic.com with the group name, the content in question, and a brief description. We will review reports and act on them within a reasonable timeframe (typically 24-48 hours).

Copyright complaints (DMCA)

If you believe content uploaded to Poker Republic infringes your copyright, send a written notice to support@poker-republic.com with the subject line "DMCA Takedown" containing all of the following, as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):

Your physical or electronic signature.
Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
Identification of the material on Poker Republic that you claim is infringing, with enough detail to let us locate it (group name, event, user, approximate date).
Your contact information (name, address, telephone, email).
A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

We will remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material upon receipt of a valid notice. If you believe your content was removed in error, you may send a counter-notice to the same address with the equivalent information required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3). Repeat infringers may have their accounts terminated.

Service availability

We aim for the app to always be available, but we do not guarantee uptime. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Poker Republic and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. This includes any disputes or losses arising from poker games organized using the app.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for gross negligence — and nothing affects any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under the mandatory law of your country of residence. If you are a consumer, statutory guarantees and remedies that cannot be excluded by law continue to apply regardless of the "as is" wording above.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the app before they take effect. Your continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms.

Apple App Store — additional terms

If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, the following also apply:

These Terms are between you and the operator of Poker Republic only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
Apple is not responsible for any product warranties. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation regarding the app.
Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app, including product-liability, legal or regulatory, or intellectual-property claims.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist-supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New York. This does not deprive you, if you are a consumer, of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live, or of any right you have to bring proceedings in the courts of that country.

General

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect.
Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the app.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or transfer of the service, on notice to you.
