Comps
Comps
In the context of casinos, comps are complimentary items given out by casinos to encourage players to gamble. The amount of comps that a player is given usually depends on what game they are playing, how much they are betting, and how long they have played. Most casinos have hosts who are responsible for giving out free items and contacting players to bring them back to the casino. Pit bosses can also award comps at table games. Most casinos now require a player to have a player's club or similar card, so that their play can be tracked and comps awarded.
The lowest level of comp available at most casinos is free alcohol and other beverages. Many casinos provide free drinks to anyone who is gambling.
The second level of comp that many players earn is free meals. Many casinos have several restaurants and may require more play to earn a comp to the higher end restaurant. Often the player is given a certain amount to spend, but sometimes, particularly with high rollers, the player may be given the right to order as much food as they want.
The next level of comps is usually free hotel rooms. Many casinos have attached hotels, but those that don't may have the ability to comp rooms to a hotel nearby. Many casino hotels have higher quality rooms, such as suites, villas, presidential suites and so on for bigger bettors. Many players who receive hotel rooms receive a package called RFB for room, food, and beverage or RF for smaller bettors, or jurisdictions where casinos are not allowed to give free alcohol.
Many casinos also offer other comps, especially to high rollers. These may include airfare reimbursement, limo rides, prostitution services, tickets to shows, golf, free concierge services, cash back, private gaming areas, and private jet service.
Casinos also frequently offer players comps by mail. These may be free bet offers, free meals, discounted or free rooms, or entries into tournaments or prize drawings.
Video Poker Slots
Video Poker Machine
Video Poker is a draw poker in slot machine form. Players Hold or Discard from five cards showing and get a second deal, or stand with a pat hand. It has become the most popular game of chance among casino players in the U.S. It seams that every machines has a different payout. Supposedly California Video Poker machines follow Nevada video poker rules.
There are important differences between Video Poker and
Table Poker worth noting as follows:
1. In Video Poker the House is represented by a machine not a dealer and
the video machine does not attempt to beat you.
2. You don’t have to figure out what the other player's hand could be
like when playing against other players.
3. You cannot bluff.
4. You do not run the risk of being beaten by another player. If you
have a strong hand, you win. In Table Poker, you could have a strong
hand like three of a kind and lose to another player who has a better
hand.
5. A good decision in Video Poker may be a bad one for Table Poker. What
is advantageous to hold in Video Poker may prove disadvantageous in
Table Poker and vice versa.
Based on classic Five Card Draw, Video Poker challenges players to build
the best possible five-card hand. The player is dealt five cards and has
the option of discarding any or all of the cards. New cards are dealt to
replace the discards.
Payoffs are based on a scale, paying players for hands as low as a pair of tens or Jacks all the way up to a Royal Flush. Like slot machines, Video Poker machines are available in many denominations, with 25c and $1 machines being the most popular. Many casinos also offer progressive payoffs or bonuses for Royal Flushes or other special hands. Video Poker provides variety too, with versions ranging from 'Jacks or Better' to 'Deuces Wild' and 'Jokers Wild'.

Poker Crazy Pineapple Hi-Low Split
Crazy Pineapple Hi-Low Split
Crazy Pineapple Hi-Low SplitCrazy Pineapple Hi-Low Split is played with a standard 52-card deck. In order for a hand to qualify for the low hand, the hand must contain an 8-low or better (lower). Blinds are posted by players who sit in consecutive clockwise order from the button. Action is initiated on the first betting round by the poker player to the left of the person who posted blind clockwise from the button. The blinds act last on the first betting.
All players receive three cards dealt face down (hole cards) as their initial hand. The first round of betting occurs. Check and raises are permitted. Three cards are turned face up in the middle of the board simultaneously (flop). These board cards are community cards and available to all players. The second round of betting occurs. At this time players choose to keep two of their three cards hole cards from their initial hand and discard the third. The next two board cards are turned up one at a time with a round of betting after each card. After the final round of betting has been completed, a player may use any combination of five cards (one hole card and four from the board, etc.) to determine their best high and qualifying low hand. A poker player may use all of the board cards (playing the board). The qualifying low hand must have an 8-low or better. The winning poker hand must show both hole cards face up on the table. The best five-card high and five-card qualifying low poker hand splits the pot. If there is no qualifying low hand, the high hand wins the entire pot. In the event of a tie, that portion of the pot is split equally.
